Environmentally friendly scratching posts – sustainability in all areas

The most important value of RAAPIMA's scratching and climbing tree production is sustainability. Sustainability has been taken into account in all areas: in the design and construction of the scratching tree and in the entire production chain from start to finish.

We aim to respond to environmental overload by improving the environmental friendliness of scratching wood production in the areas of materials, local production and longevity. We want to reduce disposable remote production and introduce more sustainable scratching tree alternatives to the market.

Scratching post made of high-quality materials

When choosing materials for scratching posts, we prioritize ecology and durability.

The frame of the scratching posts is made of Finnish pine and the tops and bottom are made of durable birch plywood. The rope is made of sisal natural fiber. The fabrics have been selected with attention to durability and the use of reusable materials where available. The cushion cover fabric is 100% OEKO-TEX 100 certified cotton. The upholstery fabric for the posts and tops of the gray and black scratching posts is 100% recycled needle felt carpet.

Maintenance-friendly scratching posts

We believe that it is better to maintain what you already have than to buy a new one. All ropes, surface covers and cushions for the scratching posts are available as spare parts. We have tried to make the replacement process as simple and easy as possible. No glue or special tools are required for replacement.
This way the scratching post stays clean for a long time!

Environmentally friendly shipments

All scratching posts are shipped in ecological packaging. All plastic used in the packaging is at least 75% recycled and 100% recyclable. The filling is over 50% recycled paper. The boxes are made from raw materials from responsibly managed FSC-certified forests.
